Yes, I was successful with my band, but my father was bad with money and lost it all. After everything was gone, he kicked me out of the house, so I had no money, no clothes, no nothing.

Imagine that- everyone knows you as a successful rapper, but you're actually homeless, in truth. I couldn't get money from the band since my father blew it all. I had no job and no idea how to get back from that.

And I’m not alone with that.

I’d even say it’s more common lately.

So many people had high-paying jobs, and last year those jobs were gone. Even a lot of celebrities lost their paycheck, too, because tours were canceled.

No matter where you are in life, losing the primary source of income hits different.

I had to adapt fast- because my lifestyle and what I built would be impossible to keep with a simple 9-5 job. 

The band was still a thing, and as a simple employee, I never would have gotten the freedom to tour and work myself up again.

Just as many employees today are desperate: Their debt is too heavy ever to be covered in a lifetime of work. They need multiple jobs just to survive, and they have no hope of ever getting to a place with more time and less stress. 

So I was looking around at what I could do to stabilize my cash flow quickly. What could I learn fast enough, and what gave me big enough results?

That's when a friend of mine told me that you could make the bag with tweeting. I had no followers there. I didn't even have Twitter.

But it looked like a way out, and so I saw what I could do with it. It was a hard school, finding out how the platform worked, when to post what, figuring out how to go viral…

And that's when it hit me:

I was successful before, but I had no idea what really made me successful. I thought people liking our music was enough, but there was more to it.

Think about it: Many businesses today have great products and services, but they make zero sales, while less qualitative versions of the same products sell like hotcakes.

Those businesses try running ads or posting on social media and hope it works- but it doesn't. 

What I realized is:

The product of a business is not what sells.

It's also not the marketing method that generates sales.

How do I know?

Because there are businesses that never ran a single ad, and they are killing it. Then some companies spend thousands on ads and get no sales at all. It's not the medium.

But if people believe the medium is the solution, they can only fail. That's like you wanna build a house, but you think buying the hammer will build it.

So you actually wanna go the other way around.

You wanna first understand what will make people buy from you, follow you and how to reach them- in that order.

And before that, you wanna prepare to run a successful business before you even start it. If you do that, you don't have to figure it out when you're busy growing, but you're set for success from the get-go.

97% of people fail with courses. Tony Robbins said that 70% of his customers don't even log in- and that's true for most course creators.

So of the 30% who actually log in, only a small fraction ever even finish. And an ever-smaller fraction ever gains significant success.

And here's why I think that is:

So what I'm saying is, don't just take a course that teaches you one business model, over like eight weeks or so, but follow milestones.

First, expand your horizon- you can't be a business owner with an employee mindset, employee skillset, and employee habits.

Understand what's different in business and how entrepreneurs think. Get books on mindset and business skills, listen to podcasts, watch interviews with famous entrepreneurs.

Success leaves clues- follow those breadcrumbs.

But you might ask: "Yeah, Spec great point. I got my free podcast app, my PDF reader or Kindle, and I’m willing to invest the little time I have to learn. Where do I find the best sources to learn from?

Because there are thousands of books, podcasts, and interviews, I got no time browsing those and figuring out whom to listen to!"

I get you. I had the same problem, remember? I had no one to teach me, so I had to rely on books and find a way to apply the knowledge to my situation.

Later in life, I found peers I could interview and ask for specific situations.

But for every situation, you need different input and knowledge. There is no one fits all solution.

What you can do is look for principle-based lessons.

I’m talking about timeless principles that are always useful for your goals.

For example, knowing how to go viral using one medium's algorithm might not work on another medium. Going viral on one platform doesn't mean you go viral on another platform.

But if you can create viral content people wanna share in general because of psychological principles, it doesn't matter where you share the content.

See how this goes deeper than just a social media strategy?

More than "Post 10 stories a day, do five reels and six posts using 25 hashtags"?

This is the difference between a cat video that gets a few hundred likes or Grumpy Cat.

I get many questions every day about how this whole thing works, but most people aren't ready for that yet. 

They wanna know the strategies I used for my clients who have millions of followers. Those are not the same strategies I would use for your business.

Before I take any client for my company Adwizar, they need to have a million followers first, so what I do for them doesn't apply to most people.
